Photo-shoot granny

"A portrait! What could be more simple and more complex, more obvious and more profound."

Today was amazing! I did a photo-shoot of my Dutch granny and guess what... she loved it. I hope she will love the result as well. Wasn't easy though. The beginning went a bit slow, but after a short while I found new amounts of energy and we had so much fun.

After checking the photographs on my computer I noticed that in some cases I was shooting with aperture priority (2.8) and the shutter speed would go down to 1/80 or sometimes even 1/50, which makes it difficult to control the sharpness and actually you can see it in a couple of photos. I guess next time I should try to control the shutter speed and light better :) Anyways, it was FUN! :) and definitely will do it again, and again, and again...

Nature Morte | Stilleven | Still Life | Martwa Natura

Here are some examples of a classic Still Life (Nature Morte) shoots, which I took during the photo course. Still Life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects, which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on). Up to now my only experience with Still Life was long time ago during my studies when I would find my self experimenting with different painting and draw techniques. Looks like now it's time for Still Life Photography, which is not less engaging!
Interesting classic examples:
